This Privacy Policy describes how Dakota Labs LLC ("Dakota Labs," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with our mobile applications and website (collectively, the "Services"). We take privacy seriously and only collect what we genuinely need to operate.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not build profiles for third-party targeting. Full stop.
Account information. When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, we receive a stable identifier (your Apple user ID) and, on first sign-in only, your email address if you choose to share it. We use this solely to create and maintain your account.
Profile information you provide. Depending on the app, you may optionally provide a birthdate, birth time, and birth location. This information is used to personalize your in-app experience (e.g., astrological calculations) and is stored on our servers.
Usage data. We may collect basic usage metrics such as which features are used and when, app version, and device type (e.g., iOS). This helps us improve the product. This data is not linked to your identity for advertising purposes.
Transaction data. If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card information. We receive a subscription status from Apple's StoreKit to unlock premium features.
Device information. We may collect information about your device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes.
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate our apps. Each is listed here with the relevant data sharing involved:
Apple (Sign in with Apple / App Store / StoreKit). Account authentication and subscription management. Apple's own privacy policy governs data Apple collects. We receive only what Apple passes to us — a user identifier and optionally an email address.
Railway (Backend Hosting). Our server infrastructure is hosted on Railway. Your account data and app content are stored on Railway-managed servers. Railway does not access your data for its own purposes.
AI / Language Models. App content such as daily readings and personalized text is generated using AI models. We run our own local inference infrastructure where possible. In some cases, content may be generated via third-party AI providers (such as Groq). Requests sent for AI generation may include your sign, relevant date, or profile context, but are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Cloudflare. Our website and API traffic may pass through Cloudflare's network for performance and security purposes.
We retain your account and profile data for as long as you have an active account with us. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
AI-generated content (e.g., daily readings) may be retained in aggregate for service improvement, but is not linked back to your identity.
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure token storage, and access controls on our backend systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Access and correction. You may contact us to request access to the personal information we hold about you, or to correct inaccurate information.
Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing us at hello@dak-labs.dev. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Push notifications. You can manage or revoke notification permissions at any time via your device's system settings.
Sign in with Apple. You can revoke our app's access to your Apple ID at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → Password & Security → Apps Using Apple ID on your iOS device.
Our apps are intended for users 17 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice within the app. Your continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
